On Saturday, July 4, 2009, Sully will host its 14th Annual Sully Freedom Fun Run in connection with the town’s Fourth of July Celebration.  The one mile run/walk will begin at 8:00 AM and the 5k run/walk will start at approximately 8:20 AM.

Both races will start and finish on the square in downtown Sully.  Entry fee for the one mile is $10 and $15 for the 5K for those registering on or before June 26. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations postmarked by June 19. Race day fees are $12 for the 1 mile and $18 for the 5K. T-shirts are not guaranteed for race day registrants. Proceeds from this year’s race will go toward the Lynnville-Sully Cross Country Team and Athletic Fund.

A commemorative plaque will be given to the first three overall males and females in the 5k and to the overall male and female winners in the 1 mile run.  Age group awards will also be given in the 5k.  Every participant also will be eligible for many door prizes. In order to get all awards out to participants, we ask that you please stick around after the race for the awards ceremony. 

Following the races and awards ceremony, runners are invited to take part in a freewill donation pancake breakfast put on by the First Reformed Church youth group, as well as stick around for all of the activities Sully has planned for the day.  There will be a parade, carnival games for the kids, and many more events.
