The Après Midi Club is a private club organized in 1939 by ladies in the community to help one another get acquainted.  The club membership is comprised of 20 ladies.  The club motto is" Give to the world the best you have and the best shall come back to you".  The colors of green and gold have been designated as the club's colors.  Each month except July and August, two of the members will host and co-host a meeting of the membership.  There is typically a program given that consists of possibly a craft, educational topic, or a guest invited to make a presentation.  Roll call at the meeting adds to the fun and fellowship by asking the members to complete a phrase or question or describing some type of event the member has experienced. One club project is identified and completed each year, whose goal is to demonstrate a giving back to the community.  The members do not wish any recognition for the community projects they complete.

The Garden Thyme Club was organized in August 1998 by a group of ladies with a common interest. This club meets monthly and is made up of local persons who enjoy flowers, gardening and the camaraderie of friends. The club has held various fundraisers over the years such as garden tours, a garden gate auction and a “picnic in the park” to support various community projects; the most recent project being the purchase of banners for the street light poles around the town square. However, the primary focus of the Garden Thyme Club is the ongoing care and maintenance of the historic Deep Rock Station and Gardens located on the northeast corner of the town square. The L-S Citizens' Scholarship Foundation is an organization that provides financial assistance to graduating seniors of Lynnville-Sully Community Schools, who plan to continue their education. The chapter is 14 years old and is affliliated with the national non-profit organization "Citizens' Scholarship Foundation of America". It operates with volunteer, non-salaried school district citizens. It is an incorporated, non-profit, tax-exempt organization.

The foundation’s purpose is to expand the educational opportunities for students of Lynnville-Sully Community School. Its functions are:

• To promote the Dollars For Scholars program
• To raise funds for scholarship award distribution
• To award the scholarships on a fair, non-discriminatory, and equitable basis.

During the 14 years, the foundation has awarded scholarship grants to 320 L-S graduates. The L-S foundation is very proud of several accomplishments. Every L-S graduate who has submitted an application has received a scholarship grant. Funds for the grants come  from individual and business donations. The foundation does a annual winter sports fundraiser where dollar amounts are pledged for each fall/pin by an L-S wrestler and each made 3 point shot and freethrow by an L-S varsity boys and girls basketball team member.

Sully Development, Inc is a for profit corporation organized by several community organizations and individuals in the community of Sully. The purpose of Sully Development is to improve the quality of life through community betterment. Sully Development, Inc was formed in April, 1969 and was active in rebuilding the barbershop, restaurant, and insurance office after they were destroyed by fire in 1969. The restaurant and the insurance office are still operating today. The barbershop was acquired by the restaurant to expand its seating capacity.

The primary function and goal of Sully Development, Inc is to attract and keep business and industry in the community. Sully Development works very closely with the Sully City Council on projects that will increase the city's taxable valuation, expand the number of jobs, and help increase the student enrollments of Lynnville-Sully Community School and Sully Christian Grade School. The fee for a Sully Development share is $100. There are currently 87 shareholders, who own 174 shares.

Sully Health was incorporated in 1992 as a nonprofit organization; the purpose for the corporation is to receive and administer funds for scientific, educational, and charitable activities within the confines of a non-profit corporation.  A major objective of Sully Health Foundation is to encourage health care professionals to practice in Sully.  Presently, Family Dentistry (Grinnell), Fikse Chiropractic, and Roland & Dieleman (CPA services) occupy the Sully Health and Professional facility on a part-time basis.  This facility was formerly occupied by F&M Bank. 

Sully Health Foundation is the vehicle for encouraging health care professionals to bring their practice to the Sully community.  Persons interested in helping with this important cause can become a member by contacting a board member and contributing $10.  Current board members are Margaret Vander Weerdt, Don Musgrove, Rodney Jansen, Ervin Arkema, and Teryl Ver Ploeg.

On January 18, 1954, the Sully Lions Club was granted their charter and organized with forty members. Of those forty members, Virgil Kooistra and Doyle Vande Krol are the only two members still living within the community of Sully. The club has approximately 54 members, who exhibit and promote “We Serve”, the motto of Lions International. The letters in LIONS stand for Liberty, Intelligence, Our Nation’s Safety.

The club is very active in the community of Sully. The activities range from doing special projects such as the fundraising and construction of playground equipment in the Sully Central Park to operating the concession at the Sully Ballpark during the summer for Little League and the Lynnville-Sully Hawk softball teams. The club oversees the collection and distribution of funds that assist area families of need with payment of their winter heating bills. The club’s projects are funded by the park concession stand, serving lunch during the Sully July 4th Celebration, and the Pella Tulip Time stand. A portion of the club’s funds are used to award a scholarship grant to one graduate of Lynnville-Sully Community Schools and one graduate of Pella Christian High School.

The Sully Lions Ryder Cup golf tournament held the last Saturday in July has become a very popular event; 2008 was the eighth year for the tournament. The profits from the tournament are distributed evenly between the public libraries in Sully and Lynnville. Typically 90 players sign-up for the tournament with the many cash and non-cash prizes that are awarded being donated by 100+ local businesses.

Between the months of September and May, the members meet twice a month (2nd and 4th Monday) at the Sully Community Center. The meeting consists of a meal with a business meeting that follows.
