Ratcliff & Blake Insurance started in 2019 with offices in Oskaloosa, Pella and Melbourne, with the Sully office, formerly known as First State Insurance, joining the Ratcliff & Blake team in 2024. That transition provided the Sully team with more carrier options for personal insurance clients and opened up opportunities to insure larger businesses, schools, and cities. Ratcliff & Blake has 15 employees throughout their locations and three of them are at the Sully office.
Nathan Russell manages the Sully location, which was originally established by combining two long-standing local agencies; Van Der Zyl Insurance in Sully and First State Insurance in Lynnville. After joining forces with the other offices under the Ratcliff & Blake umbrella, Nathan Russell became an owner with Billy Blake in 2025.
